It looks like the Dillon Brooks and Memphis Grizzlies relationship is over.
According to The Athletic’s and Stadium’s Shams Charania, the team informed the upcoming free agent forward they will not re-sign him this summer under any circumstances.
Before the news came out, it was reported Brooks wanted a bigger role on offense after being a three-and-D player in Memphis. And that’s something the organization had no interest in offering.
The Athletic’s Sam Vecenie summed up everyone reaction to the Brooks situation while commenting on the reported story.
“I’m just not sure how you can read this and be in any way surprised Memphis reportedly won’t bring back Dillon Brooks,” he tweeted.
