Draymond Green spared no punches when firing back against Dillon Brooks
In an interview with ESPN’s Tim Keown, Brooks expressed his displeasure for Green and the Golden State Warriors. The Memphis Grizzlies forward said Green “talks a lot” and wouldn’t be well known if playing for any other team.
While Green declined to respond to Keown, he didn’t hold back when addressing Brooks’ comments on his podcast.
“If you ever wondered why the Memphis Grizzlies is not ready to compete for a championship, look no further than this idiot right here,” Green said. “They’re actually depending on this guy to help them win a championship.”
Green said Brooks would talk a lot more than he already does if he was also a four-time NBA champion, four-time All-Star, and a Defensive Player of the Year who played for Team USA in the Olympics.
The 33-year-old said Brooks showed “how little” he knows about basketball, claiming his understanding is at “a fan level.” Green called Brooks a “clown” who will never win a championship and questioned whether his Grizzlies teammates like him.
“The dynasty starts after you, not with you.”
Luckily for fans intrigued by this escalating feud, the Grizzlies host the Warriors this Thursday night on TNT. They’ll meet again on March 18 and would face off in the postseason’s opening round based on the current standings.
