“Inside the NBA’s” Ernie Johnson usually leaves the funny jabs to co-host’s Charles Barkley and Shaquille O’Neal. But on Sunday night’s postgame show following Game 4 of Nuggets-Suns, Ernie couldn’t help himself when it came to Suns owner Mat Ishbia.
Discussing the incident between Ishbia and Denver big man Nikola Jokic, the NBA on TNT crew mostly agreed that both men could’ve handled things better and that the league should just move on.
“I hope the NBA don’t do something stupid,” Barkley said. “It was unfortunate, it happened, it’s over with. I just hope they don’t do anything stupid.”

Johnson agreed. Before adding, “And don’t either of you guys do it again. Ok? Mat Ishbia: Don’t hold onto the ball. Joker: Don’t make him flop.”
Ernie’s quick barb got a chuckle from the rest of the crew as they moved onto the next segment.
Game 5 between the Nuggets and Suns tips-off tomorrow night at 10 PM ET.
