ESPN’s Jalen Rose decided to address recent comments made by Hall of Fame coach Phil Jackson on Sunday. During an appearance on “Tetragrammaton” with legendary music producer Rick Rubin, Jackson admitted he hasn’t watched the NBA since their decision to play in the Bubble.
Saying, “They even had slogans on the floor and the baseline. It was trying… to bring a certain audience to the game, and they didn’t know it was turning other people off. People want to see sports as non-political.”
Rose answered to those statements in a video posted to his Twitter over the weekend.

The same Phil Jackson that won championships with some of the greatest black athletes in the history of the game … made billions off their backs and off their sweat equity. You’re sitting their watching the game with your grandkids and y’all think it’s funny when ‘Justice’ passes the ball to ‘Equal Opportunity?’ When somebody shows you who they are, believe ’em. So stop watching… forever.
This is far from the first controversial statement made by the 11-time champion, dating back to his comments on players’ music and clothing choices back in 1999.
Even though, ironically, a younger Phil Jackson very much wore his politics on his sleeve as a player for the New York Knicks back in the late-60s and 70s, embracing the hippie culture of the time.
