On Tuesday, the San Antonio Spurs representative exited the 2023 NBA Draft lottery with the No.1 overall pick.

The expected selection is the seven-foot-five French phenom in Victor Wembanyama, who NBA fans have raved about.

The battle to get the top pick is a matter of percentages – and luck. NBA deputy commissioner Mark Tatum flips cards of several teams in contention and the last team ends up with the top selection.

One Twitter user showed a video explaining how ESPN leaked the pick by accident.

“ESPN accidentally leaked Spurs #1, check the bottom of the card and you can see the Spurs logo as the E&Y guy walks to the stage.”

This was probably just an honest mistake by the worldwide leader, but all in all, it still turned out to be a great night for the Spurs franchise.
