Shaquille O’Neal recently came through in the clutch for a Michigan teenager in need of some plus-sized footwear.
Eric Kilburn Jr., 14, is a freshman at Goodrich (Mich.) High School. He’s a large young man with a shoe size in the 20s, which makes sneakers impossible to find.
Kilburn had been cramming his feet into undersized pairs of shoes, until his story began getting some publicity and shoe companies offered to help. That’s where Shaq comes in.
WXYZ Detroit’s Brad Galli has the scoop on how Shaq spoke with Kilburn and his family over the phone before the Hall of Fame center told the teen he would send him some of his customized Reebok shoes.
Shaq famously wears a size-22.
Shaq-sized surprise:
When Michigan teen Eric Kilburn Jr. needed custom-made, size-22 shoes, multiple companies stepped up.
Then @SHAQ called.

Props to Shaq for stepping up for this kid during his time of need. It’s also cool to see other shoe companies offering their services.
Hopefully Eric never has to worry about what he’s putting on his feet ever again.
