
Joel Embiid was awarded the 2022-2023 MVP award on Tuesday for the first time in his career.
The Philadelphia 76ers All-Star defeated former MVPs Nikola Jokic and Giannis Antetokounmpo in the race.
The full voting breakdown of the MVP race was released today by NBA communications, with Embiid, Antetokounmpo, and Jokic receiving majority of the votes.

Embiid dominated the voting by taking home 73 of the possible 100 first-place votes. Jokic, fresh off of back-to-back MVPs finished with 15 first-place votes, while Gianns brought home 12.
Embiid averaged career-highs of 33.1 points on 55 percent shooting from the field with 10.2 rebounds per game, which helped the 76ers finished the regular season with the third seed in the Eastern Conference.
