According to New York Knicks head coach Tom Thibodeau, star guard Jalen Brunson may have tweaked his ankle injury late in today’s game against the Miami Heat.
Brunson put up solid numbers against the Miami Heat in Games 1 and 2 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals. However, amid a pretty poor showing in Game 3, he may have hurt his ankle.
Speaking to the media after the Knicks’ 105-86 loss to the Heat, Brunson was asked if his ankle has affected his play. After some banter with the reporters, Brunson replied, “I’m good to play, and that’s it.”
Brunson went seven of 20 and finished with 20 points, six rebounds and eight assists in the loss. His 35-percent shooting was his second-lowest of the playoffs and among his worst of the entire season.
As a result, Knicks fans aren’t exactly thrilled at their prospects of beating Miami if Brunson is playing hurt.

“Series L. Welp good job getting this far boys,” one user wrote.
Other fans are complaining that Knicks head coach Tom Thibodeau shouldn’t have had Brunson playing that late in the game when it was already lost.
“Why was he in a game down 20 with 6 min to go!” wrote another.
“Stop playing players in garbage time,” another pleaded.
The Knicks have one more game in Miami before returning to Madison Square Garden for Game 5.
