You can breathe a sigh of relief, Vanderbilt fans.
Jerry Stackhouse, who is the head coach of the men’s basketball program for the school, has been connected to the Detroit Pistons’ job as they continue to search for their next head coach.
The Pistons are without a head coach after they announced that Dwane Casey would be moving to the front office.
Stackhouse vehemently denied those rumors via Twitter on Thursday morning.
“Lisa, Don’t listen to these (clowns). It’s beguilement in the highest form. They have NO ACCESS to me or @VandyMBB so they choose to cater to the irrational and divisive 5.8% of Commodore Nation,” Stackhouse tweeted.
Lisa,
Don’t listen to these ????’s. It’s beguilement in the highest form. They have NO ACCESS to me or @VandyMBB so they choose to cater to the irrational and divisive 5.8% of Commodore Nation.⚓️⬇️ #BEUS #dontfallforit #sources— Jerry Stackhouse (@jerrystackhouse) April 13, 2023
Stackhouse has done a good job rebuilding the Commodores program since taking over in 2019. They struggled in their first two seasons but in their last two, they have finished above .500.
They were even on the NCAA Tournament bubble this past season after they finished with a 22-15 record.
He has them on the verge of a berth in the NCAA Tournament and because of that, has no interest in ducking out.
