When Joel Embiid became the Philadelphia 76ers No.3 overall pick in the 2014 NBA Draft, the center out of Kansas predicted an MVP win in a couple years.
Nine years later, the goal came to pass when Embiid beat out Denver Nuggets All-Star Nikola Jokic and Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo, both former MVPs, for the award on Tuesday.
Embiid, 29, reminded the world of his prediction on social media after winning the 2022-23 trophy.
“SPOKE IT INTO EXISTENCE,” Embiid tweeted.

Embiid averaged 33.1 points on 55 percent shooting from the field this season, career-highs, along with 10.2 rebounds. Embiid is the first 76er to capture the MVP award since NBA Hall of Famer Allen Iverson.
Congrats to Joel. Well-deserved.
