Patrick Mahomes was in the house for Sunday night’s matchup between the Lakers and Mavericks in Dallas.
The NFL MVP was seated courtside at the American Airlines Center, giving him up-close access to the star-studded NBA matchup.
LeBron James stood in front of Mahomes as he got ready to inbound the ball. The Lakers superstar, who had just injured his right ankle, had this to say to the Chiefs quarterback:
“You not the only one playing with a f***d up ankle, huh?” LeBron said.
LeBron injured his ankle late in the third quarter of Sunday night’s game. He tightened his laces and finished out the game with 26 points and eight rebounds, leading the Lakers to a 111-108 victory.
Mahomes suffered a high-ankle sprain during the Chiefs’ Divisional Round win over the Jacksonville Jaguars. He then battled through this injury and led his team to a Super Bowl victory.
Unlike Mahomes, LeBron will miss time with his ankle injury. The team will reevaluate his injury in two weeks before deciding when the all-time great will return to the court.
The Lakers are 12th in the Western Conference and in danger of missing the playoffs.
