Los Angeles Lakers legend Magic Johnson is pumped for his former team to take the court for Game 2 of this year’s Western Conference Finals against the Denver Nuggets.
The Hall of Fame point guard took to Twitter with some words of advice for the Lakers as they look to even up the series after a Game 1 loss on Tuesday.
“Go @Lakers! Tonight defense has to be better. We have to be more physical, box out, limit the Nuggets offensive rebounds, and we have to make a lot more outside shots tonight than we did in Game 1!” Johnson wrote.

The Nuggets out-rebounded the Lakers 47-30 in Game 1 — including 15 offensive rebounds to LA’s five. Nikola Jokic had 21 of these rebounds on his own en route to his incredible 34-point triple-double.
The Lakers were also out-shot from behind the three-point arc, knocking down 11 threes to Denver’s 15. That being said, the team shot the deep ball at an impressive clip — connecting on 45.8% of its three-point attempts.
Tonight’s game will tipoff at 8:30 p.m. ET in Denver’s Ball Arena.
