Mo Bamba did not waste any time getting started on his cross country move.
After receiving the news this afternoon that he was being traded from the Orlando Magic to the Los Angeles Lakers, one of Bamba’s first calls was apparently to U-Haul.
The 24-year-old big man shared a photo of himself with the U-Haul driver on his Instagram story one hour ago.
“It’s been real y’all. Love,” he captioned the post.
The No. 6 overall pick of the 2018 NBA Draft, Bamba appeared in 266 games over four-plus seasons with the Magic. He finished his Orlando tenure with averages of 7.7 points, 5.8 rebounds and 1.4 blocks per game.
The Bamba trade was part of a flurry of deals the Lakers made before today’s deadline. Los Angeles jettisoned Russell Westbrook, Patrick Beverley, Thomas Bryant and added Bamba, Jarred Vanderbilt, Malik Beasley, D’Angelo Russell and Davon Reed.
Currently, the Lakers are 25-30 and two games out of a spot in the play-in tournament.
