The NBA has been wheeling and dealing ahead of this afternoon’s trade deadline.
Among the players on the move is veteran guard Patrick Beverley. The Los Angeles Lakers traded Beverley to the Orlando Magic in a deal that sent Mo Bamba back to LA.
Beverley’s Lakers tenure is over after only 45 games. Now, we wait to see if he ever suits up for the Magic or is immediately bought out and signs elsewhere.
“Of all the buyout names mentioned, Beverley may make the most sense,” said WPLG sports reporter Clay Ferraro in regards to the Miami Heat.
“Would Minnesota be interested in reuniting if that occurs?” asked Timberwolves reporter Mitchell Hansen.
“Now just need ex-Bucks GM [and current Magic GM] John Hammond to waive Beverley for a Bucks’ buyout,” said The Bucks Lead.
“Lakers fans gotta be doing cartwheels over getting rid of both Westbrook and Beverley,” added Cowboys Wire managing editor KD Drummond.
Additionally, Beverley’s reaction from Wednesday night to the news that the Lakers were trading for his former Timberwolves teammate D’Angelo Russell has been going viral.
“The gang is back,” Beverley said, clearly not thinking that he himself could be dealt less than 24 hours later.
Fans are having fun roasting Beverley for his “cold” take in the comments and quote-tweets.
