Nuggets big man Nikola Jokic sustained a pretty nasty scratch to his arm during Saturday night’s loss to the Memphis Grizzlies.
The back-to-back MVP’s cut was easily visible to the TV’s cameras midway through the first quarter as he made his way up the court complaining to the referees.
NBA Twitter reacted to the viral gash.
“Do these NBA [players] not cut their finger nails??” a user asked.
“That’s a Steph grade cut,” tweeted Warriors Talk. “Sheesh.”
“Bigs get their ass beat & the worst part is fefs don’t call it half the time but they call cheap ass fouls on big men. Especially if a guard flops or flails on the court.”
“One thing about bigs in the NBA is the ones that really score in the paint at a high level always got scratch marks,” another said.
“This man is a warrior for coming back from a devastating injury like this. Give him the MVP already.”
“They’re gonna compare this to Jordan’s flu game.”
Joker finished with 15 points and 13 rebounds.
