American actor and comedian Hasan Minhaj has done a great job hosting The Daily Show this week, starting with bringing Milwaukee Bucks star forward Giannis Antetokounmpo on the show as a guest.
Antetokounmpo went viral for his playful joke about Phoenix Suns All-Star Kevin Durant, which had been scripted for him to read.
“You keep joining super teams to win an NBA title. Let’s work out together sometime, so I can teach you how to carry your own team.”
After reading the script, Antetokounmpo looked into the camera and told Durant how great he is as a player. Then Fox Sports One analyst Skip Bayless came at Antetokounmpo for his comments on the show, leaving Minhaj to respond.
On The Daily Show, Minhaj talked about what had happened and how the media twists things to create a discussion.
“I’m only on Day two of doing this guest hosting thing and that’s what I hate about being a part of the media,” Minhaj said. “It’s this clickbait, Instagram reels, TikTok media if I just snip out the right amount, I can ride the wave.
“Skip is perpetuating why NBA stars don’t come on these shows.”
