The Memphis Grizzlies have no intention of re-signing Dillon Brooks before the 2023-24 season, according to multiple reports.
With his time in Memphis over, the much-maligned veteran is now on the hunt for his next NBA team.
During the most recent episode of his The Big Podcast, Shaquille O’Neal said it may be difficult for Brooks to find another team willing to sign him.
“He didn’t play well enough to be acting like that. Now he’s going to be out the league, or he needs to check himself before he wrecks himself,” Shaq said. “Who’s gonna sign him?
“He’s not athletic, he ain’t jumping out the gym and his jumper ain’t like that.”

Brooks led the NBA with 18 technical fouls this season — tied with Warriors forward Draymond Green. That being said, his value for the Grizzlies wasn’t even close to the value Green brings the Warriors.
After giving the Lakers some serious bulletin board material with his trash talk directed at LeBron James, Brooks went on to put together a dreadful Round 1 performance. He averaged just 10.5 points on 31.2% shooting from the field and 23.8% shooting from behind the three-point arc.
Brooks, 27, is heading into his seventh NBA season since he was selected by the Grizzlies with a second-round pick in 2017.
