The Philadelphia 76ers were able to pull off a surprising victory in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference semis on Monday night without Joel Embiid.
It’s looking like they won’t have their center and MVP candidate available in Game 2 on Wednesday either.
Embiid will do some work in practice today, but is still listed as “doubtful” for tomorrow, according to Sixers beat writer Keith Pompey.

Embiid has been sidelined after injuring his knee in Game 3 of the Sixers’ first-round series win over the Brooklyn Nets. The injury has been described as an LCL sprain.
Without him, guard James Harden exploded for 45 points in Game 1 on Monday. His backcourt mate Tyrese Maxey added 24, with Tobias Harris chipping in 18 and De’Anthony Melton contributing 17 off the bench.
Embiid’s replacement, Paul Reed, tallied a double-double with 10 points and 13 rebounds.
Game 2 between Philly and Boston is set for 8 p.m. ET Wednesday night on TNT.
