Gilbert, the longtime owner of the Cavs, lost his son, Nick Gilbert, on Saturday. He was 26 years old.
Nick Gilbert, who represented the Cavs at multiple NBA Draft Lotteries, suffered from neurofibromatosis, a genetic disorder with no known cure.

“Heartbreaking news out of Detroit. Sending love and prayers to the Gilbert family,” one fan wrote.
“Sending my thoughts and condolences to Mr. Gilbert and to Nick’s family and friends during this time of grievance. RIP Nick. Thank you legend,” one fan added.
“Went to high school w/ Nick. Was lucky to call him a friend. One of a kind in so many ways. You hung out with Gilly and you’d have laughs & stories galore. Will never be forgotten. No one who knew him ever will. Was dealt a tough hand in life but you’d never know it. The man. RIP,” another fan wrote.
Our thoughts continue to be with the Gilbert family on Sunday morning.
May he rest in peace.
