Damian Lillard has been vocal about his desire to see things through in Portland, but it appears he could be close to considering other options.

In an interview with ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith, Lillard discussed his disappointment in the Trail Blazers not making the playoffs again this season. He noted that this offseason is an important one for the team as they look to become a contender in the Western conference.
“If we can’t do something significant like that (bringing in more talent), we won’t have a chance to compete on that level,” Lillard told Smith. “Not only will I have a decision to make, but I think the organization will too.”
The sports world is reacting to Lillard’s comment.
“Portland should get ahead of it and trade him before he asks,” one fan said. “Rob someone while you still can.”

“He just doesn’t want to be labeled like Harden or AD and ask/force a trade,” another fan said.

“First time we’ve seen Dame pop off publicly like this,” another fan noted. “Either he’s frustrated with management or maybe just growing into a new phase of life/career where different things matter.”
First time we’ve really seen dame pop off publicly like this. Either he’s frustrated with management or maybe just growing into a new phase of life/career where different things matter. Dudes been Portland til I die publicly but people change and man’s got options https://t.co/RAvyWqwQ0M

Lillard has been fiercely loyal to Portland – some have argued to a fault – for his entire career. It doesn’t look like that’s changed, but he clearly wants things to go in a different direction for the franchise.
