Grizzlies star Ja Morant is once again in the headlines for the wrong reasons.
A recent story from The Washington Post provided details regarding an alleged incident that took place in the summer involving Morant and a shoe salesman.
Givon Busby, the shoe salesman, allegedly spent roughly an hour in the back of a sneaker store hiding from Morant. Apparently, this happened after the All-Star guard threatened him.
Busby went to the police with this information. However, he never heard from them again.
“I was actually afraid,” Busby said.
According to The Washington Post, the Grizzlies worked with the police behind the scenes. That indicates they were aware of Morant’s alleged behavior.
With that said, NBA fans are understandably disappointed by this news.

“This is pretty damning stuff,” one fan said. “Not sure Morant should be back playing hoops right now. Pretty clear he’s got some serious issues that couldn’t possibly be fixed in like 9 days.”

Morant was suspended by the NBA earlier this year for flashing a gun on Instagram Live. He underwent counseling to “become a better” version of himself.
Time will tell if Morant is putting in the necessary work to be a star off the court.
