The Memphis Grizzlies just lost Game 1 of their first round playoff series, and might have lost Ja Morant in the process.

Morant left today’s game against the Los Angeles Lakers after taking a hard landing on a drive to the basket. He was in immediate pain, and after hopping up, made his way to the locker room.

It seemed like Morant landed hard on his already troublesome right hand. Now, we wait for an update on his condition.

In the meantime, the NBA Twitterverse has been discussing the possible injury.

“Ja Morant exits the game with a hand injury. Looks pretty severe,” said the Lake Show Yo Twitter account.

“Re: Ja Morant: His fall involved a FOOSH (fall on an outstretched hand). This mechanism of injury is the most common for hand and wrist injuries, including sprains and fractures. Hope he’s ok,” said athletic trainer Jeff Stotts of InStreetClothes.com.

“Damn Ja that looked nasty,” one viewer said.

“This looks quite concerning for Morant, right hand/wrist. Let’s hope for the best,” added injury writer Dr. Jesse Morse.

“Absolutely no reason for Ja to be attempting that,” a fan chimed in.

The No. 7 seed Lakers pulled away to today to take a 1-0 lead in the series.

If Morant is done for an extended period of time, the second-seeded Grizzlies may have a short stay in the playoffs.
