The Golden State Warriors aren’t happy with how their first-round series against the Sacramento Kings has started.
Golden State is down 2-0, and the NBA suspended Draymond Green for a monumental Game 3 after he stomped on Domantas Sabonis’ chest Monday night.
On his podcast Wednesday, ESPN’s Zach Lowe said the Warriors were “shocked and caught off guard” by Green’s suspension. Furthermore, they’re agitated about Sabonis getting away with aggressive tactics.
“There is some anger within the organization toward the league,” Lowe said. There’s a sense in the organization that Sabonis is shoving people on offensive rebounds and playing with his elbows out and using the ball as a weapon on offense.”
However, the defending champions aren’t receiving much sympathy. Many onlookers accused the Warriors of being sore losers.
“‘This guy is being too physical’ is next level whining,” tech writer Anthony Nash said.

“Pushing on an offensive rebound?!??! Please say this isn’t so. Not in my NBA,” KFOR’s Dylan Buckingham wrote facetiously.

“All this nonsense is ruining what has been the best on-court matchup of the opening round,” Philly Sports Network’s Sean Barnard lamented.

Sabonis submitted 36 points, 25 rebounds, six assists, and three steals through Sacramento’s Game 1 and 2 wins at home. He grabbed Green’s leg before the Warriors star stomped on the seven-footer.
Despite Lowe’s report, Warriors forward Kevon Looney told a different story. Per The Athletic’s Marcus Thompson II, he described Sabonis’ physicality as “normal big man stuff.”
Sabonis is officially questionable for Thursday’s Game 3 with a sternum contusion.
