Dwyane Wade is a Miami Heat legend, without a doubt the greatest player the franchise has ever seen.
Unfortunately, despite how beloved Wade is by Heat fans, he says he cannot live in the state of Florida, as he worries for the safety of his family.

“I mean, obviously, the tax [situation] is great. Having Wade County is great,” he told Rachel Nichols of Showtime.
“But my family would not be accepted or feel comfortable there. And so that’s one of the reasons why I don’t live there.”
Wade’s 15-year-old daughter, Zaya, came out as transgender in 2020. Florida is among several states looking to introduce legislation that affects LGBTQ+ individuals.
The sports world is reacting to Wade’s comment.
