Stephen A. Smith is a die-hard New York Knicks fan.
When the Knicks do well, the ESPN analyst looks happy on set but when the team is struggling, Smith is not a happy camper.
Tuesday involved the latter after the Knicks fell to the Miami Heat on Monday, dropping to 3-1 in the Eastern Conference Semifinals.
While Smith had his Knicks rant on ESPN’s Get Up on Tuesday, he mentioned his displeasure with the performances of Julius Randle.
“I’m kinda of scared of what I want to say on National Television,” Smith said. “I’m so disgusted with Julius Randle, I’m so disgusted with RJ Barrett, but I’m not disgusted with more anybody more than I am with Julius Randle. I’m on the verge of asking him to be traded. I think this series is over. It was a nice run. I’m very proud of Jalen Brunson and the kind of impact he’s had on the New York Knicks.
“As much as I respect and adore Tom Thibodeau and the coach that he is, I’m looking at the personnel he didn’t use and the people he trusted and relied upon. Would’ve been nice to see him throw a twist in the mix, even throw some of the bodies we haven’t seen in the regular season because what Randle has ben doing, you might as well try anything.”
Does he have a point?
