Things got a bit chippy during Tuesday’s edition of First Take.
The trio of Stephen A. Smith, JJ Redick, and Kendrick Perkins were discussing who will win the NBA MVP Award and Perkins said it will be Jokic because he’s favored by the Voters.
That led to Redick getting upset with that statement.
“What we just witnessed is the problem with this show,” Redick said. “We create narratives that do not exist in reality. What you’re implying is that the white voters that vote on NBA are racist, that they favor white people. You just said that. It’s exactly what you implied.”
Perkins then pushed back and said, “I stated the facts” to Redick before Stephen A. had to get between them.
Here’s the full clip:
Hopefully, Redick and Perkins are able to let bygones be bygones after this debate.
