Despite putting up jaw-dropping numbers this season, Nikola Jokic wasn’t listed on every MVP ballot.
On Thursday, the NBA released all 100 MVP ballots from sportswriters and broadcasters around the country.
For some inexplicable reason, ESPN’s Mark Jackson left Jokic off his ballot.
Jackson gave his first-place vote to Joel Embiid, which is obviously understandable. He then gave votes to Giannis Antetokounmpo, Jayson Tatum, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Donovan Mitchell.
Placing Tatum, Gilgeous-Alexander and Mitchell over Jokic is certainly a choice.
Jokic, a two-time MVP, finished the 2022-23 regular season averaging 24.5 points, 11.8 rebounds and 9.8 assists per game. His name should’ve been on every single ballot.
A global panel of 100 sportswriters and broadcasters voted for the 2022-23 NBA regular-season awards.
Voter selections for each annual award are now available.

As you’d expect, Jackson is getting crushed on Twitter for his controversial ballot.
The conversations surrounding this year’s MVP race were exhausting to say the least. Unfortunately, Jackson’s ballot may just revive those discussions.
Jokic doesn’t seem to be too bothered by all the outside noise. He’s a win away from leading the Nuggets to the Western Conference finals.
