When signing autographs before Saturday night’s game at Fiserv Forum, Giannis Antetokounmpo appeared to fall for a child’s subterfuge.
ESPN’s pre-game coverage showed two girls getting autographs from the Milwaukee Bucks superstar. When they returned to their seats, one took off her Antetokounmpo to reveal a Philadelphia 76ers jersey underneath.
Here’s a look at the young fan’s trickery:
Her decision to wear two jerseys paid off. She also got her Tyrese Maxey jersey signed by the 76ers point guard.
This begs the question: Was she a 76ers fan in disguise to dupe Giannis, or a Bucks fan who also wanted Maxey’s autograph?
Maybe neither. Perhaps she’s a neutral bystander who wanted as many signatures as possible.
Either way, she left the stadium with two signed jerseys. The fan also witnessed a thrilling game.
Philadelphia snapped Milwaukee’s 16-game winning streak with a 133-130 victory. Antetokounmpo’s 34 points and 13 boards weren’t enough to defeat the 76ers, who received 26 points from Maxey and a season-high 38 from James Harden.
After getting caught on national TV, the young fan probably can’t pull off the same autograph maneuver again.
