Former Good Morning Britain presenter Piers Morgan took to Twitter this afternoon to blast Boris Johnson for his behaviour at his latest Covid press conference. Piers found the Prime Minister’s cheery demeanour to be in stark contrast to the news he was announcing.
Sharing his thoughts on the conference with his 7.9 million Twitter followers he wrote: “Boris Johnson needs to stop bloody smirking & chuckling at covid press conferences.
“None of it should be cause for amusement. Looks so glib.”
Piers’ followers flooded the comments section to agree with him on the issue.
John Morrow wrote: “My wife had just said she thinks he is losing it. I now believe he is a very Poor leader.

“I think if I was asked another question about Christmas then I would smirk quite frankly. The questions asked are embarrassing,” Fiona Rodgers added.
The Government has announced that new measures will be introduced in a bid to “slow down” the spread of the Omicron Covid-19 variant after two cases were detected in the UK.
In England, face-coverings will again become mandatory in some settings, tougher testing rules will come into force for anyone who arrives in the country from abroad, contacts of people who have tested positive for the Omicron variant must self-isolate for 10 days, and booster vaccines will be rolled out to more people.
Shortly after tweeting about the conference Piers had a few thoughts on the Omicron variant he wanted to share with his followers.
“At least we know how everyone will respond to this latest setback in the pandemic,” he wrote.
“80% of the public will be rightly concerned & do what they can to help overcome it, and 20% won’t give a toss & will moan incessantly about not being ‘allowed’ to do what they’ll do anyway.
Aside from lambasting those who intend to break lockdown roles, he also queuried the origin of the Omicron variant.
“Omicron is not a ‘South African variant’, it’s a variant that was spotted & reported by brilliant South African scientists so fast the world has a chance to get on top of it. Could have originated anywhere,” he tweeted earlier today.
