The reunion episode, when it finally arrived to our Netflix screens after a delay, brought plenty of drama as the couples from the fourth series of the dating programme revealed what happened after the altar.
The likes of Brett and Tiffany, and Chelsea and Kwame, got to show off their happily married lives, while Zack and Bliss finally addressed the drama with Irina, and Micah held back tears over heartbreak with Paul.
But viewers seemed to be distracted by all the drama from the contestants, instead focused on comments made by co-host Vanessa.
The 42-year-old fronts the show alongside her husband Nick Lachey, lead singer of boy band 98 Degrees.
The pair married in 2011 and share three children together, and now present Netflix dating programmes together like Perfect Match.
During the reunion episode, Vanessa didn’t hold back from asking who would be giving her the ‘first Love Is Blind baby’.
At the end of the reunion, when previous contestant Bartise introduced his baby boy to the show, Vanessa addressed all the contestants, saying: ‘I need to know, who is going to give me our first Love Is Blind baby’.
She then individually asked each couple, putting them on the spot and asking about their ‘timelines’.
‘Vanessa’s ready,’ Nick joked, before she concluded: ‘It does get pretty awesome when you have kids’.
But viewers weren’t happy.
‘Vanessa Lachey attacking all the men, not holding mean girls accountable, asking awkward questions about kids and acting sloppy and cringe,’ one person blasted.
Someone else penned: ‘Is it inappropriate that Vanessa Lachey keeps pressuring the couples to have kids and keeps asking about it? I feel like it is’.
Another wrote: ‘One thing I can’t stop thinking about after the #LoveIsBlind reunion – Vanessa Lachey pushing everyone for babies. Maybe some of the couples don’t want kids. Maybe they are struggling with infertility. It’s so cringey.’
Others called Vanessa’s comments ‘insensitive’, with one person writing on Reddit: ‘It’s insensitive because of so many reasons A) infertility B) what if one is ready and the other is not and it’s a big fight C) what if one says they doesn’t want kids at all and it’s a big fight D) you never know what other health issues could be preventing this decision E) financial stuff It’s none of her damn business and it’s way out of line.’
‘In addition to how invasive and insensitive that line of questioning was, I hate that it perpetuates this expectation that women have to get to baby-making as soon as they find a man,’ another added.
Metro.co.uk has approached Vanessa’s reps for comment.
Love Is Blind is available to watch on Netflix.
