Love Island: Kai and Sanam announced as winners
Last week, ITV confirmed the brand new series of Love Island will be returning on Monday, June 5 with Maya Jama as its host once again.
The upcoming season will mark the second time the show has been on this year as fans saw Kai Fagan and Sanam Harrinanan walk away as the winners of the Winter edition.
Now it’s time to head back into the Spanish villa for dramatic couplings, feisty fallouts, hilarious friendships and a summer of love.
This year, ITV announced the public to decide which Islanders couple up in the opening episode.

Ruchee Gurung
Age: 24

Occupation: Beautician
Calling it the perfect opportunity to meet someone, Ruchee is heading into the Love Island villa looking to find the right person for a relationship.
When asked why people should want to date her, the 24-year-old said: “I’m really caring, when I’m with someone I’m all about them.
“I’m also really loyal and love doing nice things for the people that are special to me. My love language is gift giving, so I’m a real giver when it comes to relationships.”

Tyrique Hyde
Age: 24
From: Essex
Occupation: Semi-Professional Footballer
It looks as though Tyrique is no stranger to the Love Island world as one of his best friends is former contestant Toby Aromolaran.
Speaking about what he thinks he’ll bring into the villa this year, the 24-year-old said: “I’ll bring vibes, confidence, good energy and honesty.
“I don’t sit on the fence, if I have an opinion I will speak up. I’m also not afraid to go after what I want.”
The semi-professional footballer revealed he’s deaf in his right ear and has a tattoo next to his left one that symbolises strength and power.

Occupation: Business Development Executive
24-year-old George claims he’s the “first person to bring the vibe up” and loves to go out.
George hopes he’ll have his cast mates in stitches as he’ll bring the “dad jokes” to keep everyone entertained.
“I prefer a girl who is naturally good looking, and someone who has even more banter than me- although I don’t believe that’s physically possible,” he said about his ideal match.

Age: 21

Occupation: Musical Theatre Performer and Social Media Creator
Molly describes herself as “quite old-fashioned” as she admits she doesn’t use dating apps or likes partying in her attempts to find love.
The 21-year-old is a social media creator and theatre performer which means she’s travelled the globe – and already been able to peek inside previous Love Island villas in Spain and South Africa.
When asked to reveal something people may not know about her, Molly told ITV: “I live on a farm with my mum, dad, sister, grandma, grandad, aunty, uncle, cousin, cousin’s husband, their baby and chicken.”

Catherine Agbaje
Age: 22
From: Dublin
Occupation: Commercial Real Estate Agent
Catherine described herself as fun, flirty and never boring as she admits to speaking a lot.
When asked to reveal something about herself people may not know, she said: “My teeth are real, people always think they are veneers!
“I had braces when I was younger. I have two degrees, I have my undergrad and my masters in Psychology and Sociology and Real Estate.

Occupation: Communications Manager
After finishing his Masters degree, 26-year-old Mehdi admits he’s ready to find the one now his busy schedule has calmed down.
When asked what he’d pick to be the three most important things when looking for a patner, the Love Islander wants someobne who is outgoing.
He said: “Looks are important but they aren’t everything, a good sense of humour and someone who is outgoing and up for an adventure is what I’m looking for. “

Ella Thomas
Age: 23
From: Glasgow
Occupation: Model
It may not be the first time people recognise Ella as the 23-year-old is no stranger to fame.
Not only has she featured in music videos for Headie One and Burna Boy, she’s once met a Hollywood actor.
She said: “I was once an extra in World War Z. I was 12 years old when I filmed it and got to meet Brad Pitt which was cool.”
Ahead of entering the villa, the model commented: “I’m the whole package, I know what I want in life and I’ve got a big heart.
“I’d let the boys know that I’m wifey material so don’t play with me!”

Occupation: Gas Engineer
26-year-old Mitchel describes himself as a “gentleman” who’s tired of being single and is now looking to settle down.
Mitchel admits he’s keen to get married and have kids and as he nears 27, says: “I don’t want to play the field anymore, I want to find the one”.
However, those hoping to catch Mitchel’s eye will have to avoid his “icks” which include “food in your teeth and counting coins in your hand”.
