LSG head into the match on the back of their fourth loss of this season, while CSK led by Mahendra Singh Dhoni are also fresh from their fourth loss of the campaign. LSG has won 5 in 9, whereas CSK has won 5 of 9. Both sides are only separated by Net Run Rate in the playoff race.

The hosts LSG have won against Delhi Capitals and Sunrisers Hyderabad, but have suffered defeats to Punjab Kings, Gujarat Titans and Royal Challengers Bangalore at their home venue, which has proved a tough place to score runs.

BRSABV Ekana Stadium Pitch Report
The Ekana has provided a mixture of surfaces as the first match saw a high-scoring affair which saw pacers dominate, while the next four were a struggle for run-scoring with both slower bowlers and quicker bowlers finding success.
The average score batting first in IPL at the venue is 147. The teams batting first have won thrice and team chasing has won twice so far here. Chasing has been a nightmare in the last two matches at the venue, but with rain in the air, it will be a tricky choice for the captains.
The first match of 2023 season saw the hosts dominate with the bat, riding on a quick-fire 73 by Kyle Mayers to set up a total of 193, while Mark Wood ran through the DC batting line-up as they sealed a 50-run win.
In the second match, LSG spin dominated to restrict SRH to just 121 as Krunal Pandya, who had finished with figures of 3 for 18, helped in the run-chase with a 23-ball 34 to seal a 5-wicket win.
In the third match, PBKS pacers shined to restrict LSG to 159 despite Rahul’s fifty and chased down the target in the final over, riding on Sikandar Raza fifty and a Shahrukh Khan cameo, to seal a 2-wicket win.
In the fourth, LSG bowlers restricted GT to 135/6, but their batters made a mess of the run chase, falling short of the paltry target by 7 runs in the end. In the most recent match, LSG restricted CSK to just 126, but failed to chase down the score, falling short by 18 runs.
