And it was a young Uttar Pradesh bowler who starred for LSG in the match. Left-arm pacer Mohsin Khan bowled an excellent last over to give LSG the crucial victory.
With MI needing just 11 runs in the last over, Mohsin bowled an excellent over, conceding just 5 runs in it. Cameron Green and Tim David – two of World cricket’s hard hitters failed against Mohsin as the Indian bowler outfoxed them with six monumental deliveries.
And after the match, Mohsin gave an emotional interview, stating he was playing for his father who has been ill and was at Intensive Care Unit (ICU) for the last ten days.
“I was playing for my papa. He was in ICU for last 10 days. I hope he is watching it,” Mohsin said after the match.
The player also confirmed his dad was discharged from the ICU the day before and dedicated his amazing performance to his senior man.
“My father got discharged from the ICU yesterday. He was in hospital for last 10 days. I wanted to win this match for him,” he added.
The emotions were high on his voice and the bowler looked jaded and was choking on his voice while interviewing. His voice was breaking down and the player could barely say his final Thank You at the end of the interview.

The last year has been a struggling period for the bowler, who was marred with injury and was making a comeback in IPL after a long injury lay-off. He also underwent a surgery and was playing directly in the IPL this season.
His execution in the final over was quite sublime, as both Green and David failed to get anything underneath. And the bowler said he wanted to just deliver six decent balls.
“I was not looking at the scorecard. I knew what I had to do and was looking to bowl six decent deliveries. Was taking long breaths to cam myself and just wanted to do the basics right,” he further said.

The 24-year-old also continued to thank LSG mentor Gautam Gambhir and the team management for keeping faith in him after a poor outing in the last game. He has only played once before this season, where he conceded 42 runs in three overs against the Gujarat Titans.
LSG skipper Krunal Pandya also heaped praises on the player in his post-match interview.
“Really happy for Mohsin. He has a big heart. When you have a big heart you go a long way. He was injured for the last year. He went through a big surgery. But he did well,” Pandya said.
