RCB chose to bat first and were on 93/4 on a slow deck at the Ekana when the sky opened and the drizzle was enough for the umpires to stop the play. Although the rain has stopped and the play has started again, but will nature cause any damage again tonight?
LSG vs RCB, IPL 2023: Will Rain play spoilsport again at the Ekana Stadium?
According to the weather report, the light drizzle was just a scattered, passing rain. There is a 50 per cent chance of rain around one hour from now, but even if rain comes again, it may not have the virility to kill the game.
The match was stopped for around half an hour and no overs were lost despite the interruption. But if it rains again, we may see some curb in the length of the game as overs may start getting deducted.
Who will have an advantage if it rains again?
Well, already Lucknow Super Giants are going to benefit from the drizzle. The wet outfield means spinners will struggle to grip the ball and it will skid into the pitch, which significantly makes the batting easier.
And if it rains again and the game gets deducted, it will be a body blow for the visiting Royal Challengers Bangalore side. Hence from RCB’s point of view, the ramifications of another round of showers can be significant.
A smaller target in smaller number of overs means LSG can go all guns blazing from the start. And with a wet pitch and wet outfield, the going can get very tough for RCB.
