Lucky State: WA’s BIGGEST Lotto wins revealed

0

If Australia is the lucky country, then WA is certainly the lucky State with some mammoth Lotto wins in recent years.

From the two $50 million plus wins in the Goldfields just last year to this week’s $40 million ticket, WA has seen more than its fair share of overnight millionaires.

The lucky Perth winner of Thursday night’s whopping $40 million Powerball jackpot might still be unaware of their extreme good fortune.

Lotterywest says it is still waiting to hear from the ticket holder whose life changed forever when they scooped the entire division one prize pool.

The hunt is now on to find the winner, who either has not yet checked their ticket or is still coming to terms with their win before making contact.

$40,000,000 (02/03/2023) winner TBA: Lotterywest has confirmed the winning ticket was sold in the metropolitan area, but the ticket was not registered on the Lotterywest Player’s Registration Service.

It is understood the winner is a single ticket-holder, rather than a syndicate.

The mammoth win was a great result for the State, Lotterywest chief executive Ralph Addis said.

“We’re absolutely delighted to have yet another Western Australian winning ticket and our first division one Powerball win for the year,” he said.

“To average around two division one wins per week this year is a great result for our State and players.

“This Powerball jackpot run alone has seen more than $6.4 million raised for the Western Australian community through the Lotterywest grants program.

“When WA players win, the entire WA community benefits.”
