As the Dallas Mavericks’ season slips further away, it sounds like Luka Doncic is longing for a former teammate.
Doncic, who has said the Mavs are having trouble replicating the team chemistry from last season when the team reached the Western Conference Finals, was asked Tuesday how much the squad misses guard Jalen Brunson.
“A lot,” Doncic said, via ESPN’s Tim McMahon. “I mean, amazing guy, amazing player, for sure.”

Brunson, who enjoyed a breakout 2021-22 season and an outstanding 2022 postseason, signed a four-year, $104 million contract with the New York Knicks last summer.
He’s continued his rise in New York, averaging 24.0 points and 6.2 assists per game as the Knicks have already wrapped up a playoff spot.
Meanwhile, the Mavericks have lost 10 of their last 13 games to fall to 37-42 on the season. They’re currently one game out of 10th place in the Western Conference, which would earn them a spot in the Play-In Tournament.
