UFC 274: Randy Brown earns split decision over Khaos Williams
Macy Chiasson and Norma Dumont had a fun fight at UFC 274.
It took all three rounds, but Norma Dumont and Macy Chiasson got through the fight at UFC 274. Both women had some big moments, with Dumont hitting some heavy shots, and trying for some fight-ending submissions, but Macy Chiasson survived and gave as good as she got. In the end, however, Chiasson got the win, despite the judges not seeing eye-to-eye on the matter.
Despite Chiasson getting the win, and looking good in the process, the fans were not happy. It was a pretty even fight, and it’s understandable the judges scored it the way they did but the fans still booed Chiasson at the end of the fight.
She handled it with class, but questions about the future of the division remain.
The future of the division could be on Macy Chiasson’s shoulders.
Talk of the featherweight division came up, with both women being talked about as potential top contenders down the line but not being “title-ready”. The featherweight division, which is what both women fight as is no longer ranked on UFC.com, and many see the division as a one-fighter division with Amanda Nunes being the only name worth watching. Hopefully, Chiasson and others can help carry the division into a better future.
