The LSU Tigers are national champions for the first time after defeating Caitlin Clark and Iowa on Sunday.
LSU was able to weather a late-game surge from the Hawkeyes before eventually pulling away 102-85 in the highest scoring women’s title game to date.
Magic Johnson was also taking in the action. Admitting that while Iowa but up a good fight, the better team came out on top.
“Top to bottom LSU had more talent than Iowa!” the Hall of Fame point guard tweeted.

“No one on the court was better than Clark. But when it comes to championships, it’s the sum of ALL parts and no doubt LSU was the better TEAM.”

A tough loss for the Hawkeyes but make it four rings for Ms. Kim Mulkey.
