Major change to iconic chocolate

An Aussie favourite is in for a shake-up with Cadbury changing the flavours available in its iconic Roses boxes.

Cadbury has opted to return the family favourite chocolates to their original form, with more soft-centred treats featured in the boxes.

“Hard” flavours like hazelnut creme crisp, peppermint creme crunch, white raspberry and dark mocha nougat are no longer included.

Fan favourites such as strawberry creme, orange creme and peppermint creme will return to the box, while Cadbury has also introduced a new flavour – passionfruit delight.

Flavours such as classic milk, hazelnut swirl, vanilla nougat, classic caramel and caramel deluxe will all be returning.

To the delight of some fans and the disgust of others, controversial flavour Turkish delight will also be making a return.

Fan feedback was taken into account when deciding which flavours would be axed or brought back.

The new Roses boxes will be available in mid-July.

A heritage design will also come on sale this week.

“We know that the timelessness of the classic Cadbury Roses is something that is revered by all and that everyone has a nostalgic story to tell when it comes to gifting these treats to family and friends,” senior marketing manager Kathy De Lullo said.

“Through this new mix, it is so special to be able to honour the iconic soft centres and flavours like strawberry creme and peppermint creme loved by so many Roses fans as well as to create and deliver a new flavour experience through soft-centred passionfruit delight.”

A special-edition box with a heritage design will also be on sale at Woolworths for a limited time.
