A busy start to the year for the National Highways Agency will continue as major roads face closure or part-closure during the month of February. Last month saw delays and roadworks due to smart motorway upgrades on routes including the M4.
The M18 in Yorkshire is closed for two full weekends in order to carry out essential resurfacing work.
The Northbound carriageway is currently closed until tomorrow (Jan 31) then will reopen until Feb 11 at 10pm when it will close until February 14 at 6am.
National Highways Project Manager Steve Bishop said: “We are making good progress on these improvements and are on schedule to complete the work on the morning of Monday, February 14.
“The work is weather dependent and so far conditions have been favourable, so we hope that continues.”

The A46 in Warwickshire will still have closures in place throughout the beginning of February.
It’s part of the £38million Stoneleigh Junction scheme.
The new southbound exit slip road will open on February 6 but work will continue up to that point.
The current southbound exit slip road will be closed on February 1 and 2 and February 5 and 6, and the northbound entry slip road closed February 3 and 4.
