Make the ‘fluffiest’ pancakes in a hurry with ‘simple’ four-ingredient mix

Pancakes aren’t the quickest breakfast item but they are easy to make. And when it comes to speeding up the process, one chef has shared the perfect recipe.

In a video on her TikTok profile, @alyssatherecipecritic demonstrated her quick cooking hack for instant pancake batter.

She said: “This homemade pancake mix is so easy to make. Having this all mixed up beforehand makes my mornings so easy!”

The ingredients will keep for months with the right storage and are much more cost-effective than buying ready-made products.

Turning the mixture into fluffy American pancakes couldn’t be easier, and requires just four ingredients.

Ingredients

• Three cups of flour (360g)
• One-third of a cup of granulated sugar (66g)
• Two tablespoons of baking powder
• One teaspoon of salt

Combine the ingredients in a bowl and store the dry mixture in a large jar or container ready for use on demand at a later date.

The mixture will keep almost indefinitely, though the baking powder may become less effective after the expiry date.

When it comes to making the pancakes, Alyssa explained that it’s as easy as scooping out one cup of the premade pancake mix and adding the wet ingredients.

For one batch of “super fluffy” pancakes, she recommended using:

• One cup of milk (250ml)
• One egg
• One cup of the premade dry mix (approximately 120g)
• Two tablespoons of vegetable or olive oil

The self-proclaimed recipe critic explained: “Then you whisk it all together and your batter is ready.”

She continued: “This premade pancake mix is so easy. I make a big batch then store it in an airtight container and all I have to do is make up the batter, and breakfast is ready.

“Nothing beats homemade pancake mix it’s so much better than store-bought!”
