So it only makes sense that their personal and professional lives would cross over, particularly those who want more creative input into what they are wearing.

From adorable and sophisticated one-piece numbers to barely-there two-pieces, these stars have come up with collections for everyone to admire.

Kim Kardashian

Kardashian launched her first Skims swimwear line and while it was initially branded as inclusive, the reality star’s comments on an episode of The Kardashians didn’t sit well with fans when she explained she wanted people to put on her swimwear to hide their insecurities.

“I wanted to make it like Legos,” she explained. “So it could be like, if you want to cover your arms, wear that. If you want to cover your legs, wear that. Like, everyone, pick your insecurity and figure out how to cover it.”

Kylie Jenner

Unlike sister Kim’s of mostly neutrals, Kylie’s went the other way, resembling sizes you find in the children’s section – but bikinis no child should ever wear. And it wasn’t just the sight of them that had critics chiming in, as fans who purchased the pieces complained they appeared cheaply made and, again, way too small.

Mindy Kaling

The actor-writer-producer collaborated with Andie Swim to come up with what she calls a “bold and empowering” 33-piece collection of bright bathing suits, bikinis and cover-ups that she co-designed with the brand.

Ultimately, the mom of two told People magazine that her body has changed so much over the last five years so she was looking for pieces that made her feel “young and carefree” but also provided support for women of all shapes and sizes.

“I am curvy and I have big thighs, and the collection is great for my body type,” she said. “And I think a lot of women will like it for themselves as well.”

Ashley Graham

Leave it to Sports Illustrated swimsuit cover model Graham to not just model sexy suits but design them, too. The model had previously collaborated with swimsuitsforall.com on styles varying from triangle bikinis to one-shoulder fishnet beauties.

After having two kids, Graham was back at it, this time with Toronto-based brand Knix, sporting both mesh and modal pieces.

“No matter what you end up wearing this summer don’t forget to rock your swimsuit with confidence,” she insisted to People in 2020. “The secret to feeling sexy in a swimsuit is put a swimsuit on and tell yourself ‘I’m sexy.’”

Khloe Kardashian

While sisters Kim and Kylie arguably get more attention, Khloe has been busy creating one of the most popular swimwear lines in the world. Good Swim, an offshoot of her Good American brand that launched last year, was their most requested category and in keeping with the label, boasts inclusive sizing and styles.

“It can be extremely frustrating and challenging to find swimwear that fits right and makes you look and feel sexy,” she told People. “It is for that exact reason that we spent the time and resources into making this a strong collection, so women can feel confident and beautiful, always.”

Emily Ratajkowski

The actress and model grew up by the beach and it shows. She has a new line from her label Inamorata, featuring items that are backless, plunging and have lots of strings. So, perhaps these are only for the super-confident – and those who want minimal tan lines.
