“From Lansing to the league.”
That’s what ESPN host Malika Andrews said after the Orlando Magic drafted Jett Howard, the son of Michigan coach Juwan Howard, in the first round of the 2023 NBA Draft on Thursday night.
Howard, of course, played at Michigan, which is based in Ann Arbor, not Lansing. The Wolverines’ rival, Michigan State, is housed in Lansing.
Oops.

That’s a tough mistake.
Why did Malika Andrew’s just say “from Lansing to the League” about Juwan and Jett Howard?

Many on social media have not been happy with the broadcast on ESPN.
“From Lansing to the league!” as a Michigan player is drafted… this broadcast continues to impress lol

Everyone makes mistakes, but this was an awkward one, considering the rivalry between Michigan and Michigan State.
The 2023 NBA Draft continues on ESPN.
