Mamelodi Sundowns set to offload former Kaizer Chiefs star

Mamelodi Sundowns are reportedly set to offload a former Kaizer Chiefs who has struggled for game time since his arrival at Chloorkop.

According to Daily Sun, Sundowns are considering loaning out George Maluleka before the closing of the mid-season transfer window.

The reason for Sundowns are looking to send Maluleka out on loan is because of his lack of the game time, a source known to the publication said.

MALULEKA FACING STIFF COMPETITION

“Sundowns are looking at loaning Maluleka out in the January transfer window because he’s facing stiff competition in the central midfield role,” said the source.

Maluleka joined Sundowns from Chiefs in 2019 after penning a pre-contract in the final six months of his contract with the Soweto giants.

However, the 32-year-old wasn’t eligible to play a competitive match for Sundowns until the start of the 2020-21 as he was released after the closing of the same mid-season transfer window.

Since his arrival, Maluleka has managed a mere 16 appearances for Sundowns with two assists and no goal to his name.
