A man has been charged with murdering his ex partner in a deadly crash in rural NSW.
Emergency services were called to Speedy St in Molong, near Orange in central western NSW, at 3.40pm on June 9 after reports of a destructive crash between a ute and a sedan.
NSW Police confirmed the 36-year-old woman who had been driving the sedan was unable to be revived. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
The ute was badly damaged in the crash and the 35-year-old male driver had to be extracted from the vehicle by Fire and Rescue NSW.
Paramedics attended to his injuries before rushing him to Royal North Shore Hospital in a critical condition.
The man and woman are believed to have been in a relationship prior to the crash, and police previously confirmed they were investigating the crash as a domestic violence incident.
While he was in the Sydney hospital, police charged the 35-year-old man with murder and two counts of attempted murder.
He will appear before a NSW Local Court for the first time on Saturday.
Police established a crime scene at the crash site and sought assistance from specialist forensic teams.
Their investigations are ongoing and anyone with relevant information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
