The Scottish side are assessing their options after Ange Postecoglou’s move to Tottenham and have identified Maresca as a leading contender for the position.
According to The Times, Celtic are waiting to speak with the 43-year-old about the vacancy and are hoping to gain permission from City to open formal talks with their assistant manager. Their club chairman, Peter Lawwell, also attended flew out to Turkey for the final and is thought to be a driving force behind the interest.
