Guardiola refuses to believe title race is over

Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City are facing an exodus of wingers with reports suggesting a second star has agreed a move away from the club – and a third could soon be on the way as well.

It comes after Ferran Torres finally sealed his highly-anticipated move to Spanish giants Barcelona for an initial fee of £46million, with potential add-ons meaning the deal could rise to £54million.

And two young stars could be set to follow him out of the Etihad exit door during the January transfer window with their contracts due to expire at the end of the season.

Elsewhere, reports have suggested City are “tracking” a young Brazilian who has been dubbed the “jewel of Santos”.

Second winger ‘seals exit’

City winger Patrick Roberts is set to join Sunderland in January, it has been reported.

Football Insider claims the winger will cut short his loan at French side Troyes to seal a move to the northeast.

It is claimed Roberts was at the Stadium of Light on Thursday to watch Sunderland’s 5-0 win over Sheffield Wednesday.

Roberts, whose City contract expires at the end of the season, has failed to make an impact in France making just two appearances this term but could seal a permanent switch to the League One side.

Sancho mistake to be repeated?

City will not stand in the way of Jayden Braaf if a January move for the young winger materialises, it is claimed.

The Manchester Evening News reports that Braaf, who previously invited comparisons to Jayden Sancho and Memphis Depay, is set to leave the club in the new year with his contract expiring at the end of the season.

Dutch youngster Braaf moved to Serie A side Udinese on a six-month loan move with an option to buy for £9m last season but the Italian side did not take up the option on the winger.

The report adds Braaf “has welcomed interest ahead of the January window as he plans for the future, with City willing to sign off a deal”.

Brazilian “tracked”

Manchester City are reportedly “tracking” Brazilian youngster Weslley Patati, who has been dubbed the “jewel of Santos”.

Sport reports that the club have been following the 18-year-old since November, although they could face stiff competiton from Real Madrid for his signature.

The player is said to be “high on the list” of targets for the Spanish side, although City are also reported to be keen.

It is added that the player has a $100m release clause, although it is not said whether either side would be willing to bid that much for the youngster.
