Man Utd bidder Sheikh Jassim spotted in public as new Rice and Mount bids made

Manchester United’s takeover process looks to be heading towards its conclusion after months of talks, bids and discussions between the parties involved as the Glazers edge closer towards selling the club. Sheikh Jassim and Sir Jim Ratcliffe are both still involved having submitted several bids in a closely-fought battle for control of the Premier League club and with the final steps of the takeover process fast approaching, the suggestion is that Sheikh Jassim may well be the frontrunner.

Both Jassim and Ratcliffe have been edging closer towards the Glazers’ £6billion valuation of the Red Devils, £1bn for each of the family members. But there has been frustration with the lack of progress made as talks have dragged on for several months, particularly from Erik ten Hag.

If successful, it is expected that neither bidder will be in place for the Premier League opening game in August. But it remains to be seen whether the same can be said for top transfer targets such as Declan Rice and Mason Mount.

Talks are now said to be at an ‘advanced stage’ with both Jassim and Ratcliffe preparing in case they are chosen to be the preferred bidder. But there is more optimism for the Qatari-backed bid to be chosen as Jassim looks to take 100 per cent control, with INEOS chief Ratcliffe reportedly less confident than before.
