Ten Hag has been clear in explaining that the club’s refusal to grant more funds in January led to Weghorst’s arrival, and the club’s fans will be hoping any takeover would allow the Dutchman to sign a new striker this summer.
When quizzed about their chances of signing the likes of Harry Kane or Victor Osimhen this summer, the 53-year-old hinted he will sit down for talks with the club’s hierarchy in the near future.
“I will tell the club what we have to do,” Ten Hag told reporters after the game.
With Kane and Osimhen both on their radar, it seems likely United will have to have at least £100million available to spend, as well as chasing Chelsea star Mason Mount. And it remains to be seen when the club’s situation will be clarified, with Sheikh Jassim and Ratcliffe waiting for a development.
