The potential suitors of Erling Haaland, including Premier League rivals Manchester United and Manchester City have reportedly learnt the full extent of the outlay it will take to sign the striker.
Haaland has become arguably the best striker in Europe since moving to Borussia Dortmund from Red Bull Salzburg in January 2020’s transfer window.
His remarkable conversion rate for the Bundesliga giants of 70 goals in 69 games in all competitions have marked him out as one of the most in-demand targets in the top leagues.
There is set to be an almighty scrap for his signature at the end of this season, when a release clause is thought to be activated in his contract that will allow him to depart Signal Iduna Park for £70million.

But several of his potential suitors are lining up a January move for the Norwegian, to sneak in ahead of the rest of the chasing pack.
One of those clubs looking to cut a deal in the winter window is United, who have long eyed a move for Haaland.
The striker played under current Red Devils boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer at Molde, with the latter keen to link back up with his former star.
According to AS though, it would take as much as £336million to bring in Haaland if he signs a five-year contract.
That cost would need to amortized, or spread over, the full five years of such a deal were Haaland to sign it.
The report adds that Haaland’s agent Mino Raiola has agreed with Dortmund CEO Hans Joaquim Watzke that the fee needed could be as low as £84m, virtually a bargain price.
Much has been made of Haaland’s potentially massive wage demands, but it is stated that this will not a ‘decisive’ factor when he assesses which team to join.
Instead, he is set to prioritise a sporting project that will ensure he can challenge for league titles and trophies, as well as pushing him closer to winning the Ballon d’Or.

That is not to say his demands will not be hefty, with AS claiming he will demand £21m a year when it comes to wages.
As a result, and with other costs added it, that means that over a five-year contract, he can expect to earn almost £210m.
When the transfer fee is added into that number, the total cost of the transfer could reach as high as £294m.
When split over the full contract, that means that United or City will have to pay out £58.8m per season if they do sign Haaland.
The Norwegian started the current season in fine form, scoring 13 goals in his first 10 games of the new campaign.
But he has since been hit by a hip injury, that will see him ruled out of action until the January transfer window opens.
United will hoping that the injury has totally healed up before they pay out such a high amount to sign him.
